The uncomfortable truth: Why thongs with small gussets can cause discomfort and unwanted exposure

Thongs are a popular choice of underwear for many women due to their ability to eliminate visible panty lines. However, not all thongs are created equal, and the width of the gusset plays a significant role in determining their comfort. In this blog post, we will address the issues that arise when thongs have a small gusset. This discomfort is what inspired us to design thongs with a wider gusset!

The thongs that are currently on the market are fairly narrow when it comes to gusset width. This is different from regular underwear, due to the nature of the design of the thong: the back part is similar to a string so the fabric up front narrows down to work towards the thin string-like shape. However, the width of the vulva varies heavily between women. This depends on all kinds of factors, from height variation to anatomical differences between women such as bone structure or differences in the anatomy of the vulva. Looking at medical documentation on the matter, the maximum and minimum widths measured were not only far apart, the standard deviation was also high: this means that the variation between women is high. On top of that there is also strong variation in how high 'up' the vulva goes between women & the level of exposure of the most sensitive parts of the vulva. In conclusion, it is impossible to conclude what an 'average' vulva is and the thongs currently on the market seem to be designed for what people might think average is... While this is not representative of reality.

One of the main issues with thongs with a narrow gusset is their tendency to shift easily. Due to the limited fabric coverage, a small gusset can move out of place with even the slightest movement, resulting in a need for readjustment. This is especially frustrating when it happens in a public setting, such as during a workout or while wandering around at work.

P.S. One extra benefit of our wider gusset is that whatever your choice may be in terms of hairdo down there, as the gusset is wider, potential hairs are probably covered too :)
